v20.1 Having trouble with plugin installation

I want my fangame to have terastallization, and for that I would need the Essentials Deluxe Plugin. However, everytime i load the game in debug mode, it only compiles and shows the hotfixes. I do hold ctrl when opening the game, I start a new game, as required by essentials deluxe and i delete the pluginsscripts.rxdata in the data folder. How can i fix that?

Do you have the plugin in the plugins folder? If yes, I would recommend to keep trying with the recompile. I sometimes have trouble for the game to recompile even when I'm holding ctrl. And just to be sure, you have to hold ctrl when the words appear in the console, before the list of plugins appears.

it doesn't seem to be working. Is there any other way to recompile it? Also, I've noticed that everytime I recompile it, the pluginscripts file comes back. That may be a reason?

If you delete the pluginscripts, the game automatically creates it again with the info of the moment (which means, the game searches for all the data it needs to recreate the file) so that should be updated. If that file is the one that has the list of plugins (which I don't remember), it should be recreated with all the plugins you have in the plugins folder.

Honestly, I don't know why the plugin doesn't appear. Have you dropped the contents of the zip directly into the game's base folder and deleted nothing?

My first thought would be maybe putting it in the folder wrong? Maybe you accidentally put double folders (Like Plugins > Essentials Deluxe > Essentials Deluxe > scripts.rb)? You wouldn't want the two Essentials Deluxe folders there, so maybe check to see you didn't accidentally do it that way. I make that mistake often so it's worth checking just in case.

nope...I checked and it's just a single folder.

If compiling doesn't work, the only explanation is that you installed something wrong.
