I would love to see a little feedback about this and what to do to improve it. It's my first try doing something like this and I think there's something wrong on it but I just don't know what it is haha. Also this is for a ROM Hack!
That's pretty cool! The poké balls look like they're off-center, though, a little too far to the left—maybe that's what you're seeing? Anyway, I'm curious about what that background is and what it means about where you're getting your starter, haha.

Thanks for replying, you're right about the Pokeballs but I was wondering if there is something wrong with the background. This will happen in a small cave connected to the Professor's lab (his research is about Pokemon Fossils btw so there are fossils too in this cave). Anyway this is the map.

The gradient on Zapdos feels really off, especially when compared with the shading on its talons and beak. The leftover artifacts from making it transparent also don't look very good. (https://i.imgur.com/EP6o5ij.png)

I'd also suggest bumping the logo up a bit since there's some free space above it. You could probably raise Zapdos a touch too.

It's been a while since anyoen touched up on this thread, so here:
Yeah, in battle UI is still in the works, got no idea for it.

[Redacted] Town? Is there a [DATA EXPUNGED] Town?

Just kidding :P I know this is a screenshot thread but I just had to say that your maps look absolutely lovely. The tilesets you chose look so good together!

The pause menu (dunno what it should be called) is really nice as well. I’m really nitpicking here, but the money text’s colour kinda sticks out, since it doesn’t match the other text on there.

For the battle UI, I think it looks pretty cool already even if it’s a WIP! But I’d recommend making the blue-thing next to the HP smaller or transparent, since it looks a little bit awkward, especially over the EXP bar.
Regardless, it all looks super good. Good luck with your project :D

Here are some UI from our current game Project Antiquis and Chrono. They are all currently WIP as we are looking for someone to design them for us.

Anyways, the screenshots include a title screen, screens for a quest log and some random screenshots from in game

I think I accidentally created a prototype for a Super Paper Mario fan game.

So I've re-made Pewter Museum and I'm happy with the tiles that I've chosen but I'm beginning to wonder if it's not quite extravegant enough visually. I'm wondering if I should add a fog of some sort over top or if that would just be excessive. Who knows, maybe it's fine as is and I'm overthinking things. lol

Looks great. Quite often less is more - a fog would just take away from or hide the good design.

Wow! Where you got that tileset? I loved it! Can you share with me/us?
Thanks in advanced!

This is a followup to a sandbox post https://www.reliccastle.com/threads/38/page-23#post-13365 where I discussed displaying the type(s) of each participating Pokémon in a battle. I made a mockup of what a databox with types might look like, from the player's side:

Credit to for LaDestitute the Fairy type icon.
Due to another planned feature, I decided to increase the Pokémon name character limit to 14, so I had to reduce the font size of the Pokémon's name in the databox, and moved the gender and shiny icons to the bottom of the databox. I intend to introduce another icon that will appear in the databox but haven't implemented it yet; that's why in this particular screenshot, there appears to be an empty space for an icon to the right of the shiny icon.
What do you think of the databox design and layout?

I feel like the non-selected, semi-transparent pause menu icons don't stand out enough compared to the overworld, especially since the pause menu would be the player's main focus if it were open, and the overworld would be relatively inactive. If possible, you could try to dim and/or obscure the overworld while making the pause menu icons less transparent.

Just a minor thing I noticed, the signature should be, "From Prof Alder".
