Disclaimer
The following project is a fanmade prequel of Pokemon Insurgence. I have permission / consent from the lead developer of Pokemon Insurgence, 1ofthe4rocketbros, to create this project. That being said, as part of the arrangement I need to make clear that this is not officially canon or officially related in any way to Pokemon Insurgence. Likewise, this project doesn't feature any musical or graphical assets, any of the Deltas or any of the code used in Insurgence. This project is not in any way to better Pokemon Insurgence, it is more of a love letter to a project I really admire. With that out of the way, lets get on to the project!

*Important to note as well, this game is 2-3x darker than Insurgence and is not recommended for anyone under the age of 18.

Introduction
Welcome back to the Torren Region! Taking place 10 years prior to the opening events of Pokemon Insurgence, the region feels both nostalgic yet quite
different at the same time. On a brand new journey you will travel through approximately 1/3 to 1/2 of the region, rediscovering recreated versions of your favorite
locations of Eastern and Central Torren. With around a dozen or so new Delta Pokemon to discover and capture, various new and old characters to meet,
4 of the 8 gyms to defeat, new and old cults alike to face off and so much more, it should be a fun new experience to be had!

*You will need to have played Pokemon Insurgence to fully understand the character and plot references. At minimum you'll need to have played up
to the third gym to understand half the references.

Torren Region
Except for the small extension south of the region, the layout for the region is largely the same as it was in Pokemon Insurgence. That being said, it won't be
a cut and paste 1 to 1 recreation, each location has a new creative twist with new tiles and new overall feel. Some locations have also been expanded
with new areas both in plain sight and hidden. Each location feels new and unique and contains brand new wild encounters as well as new NPC's and trainers!

RegionFull.png

(All the dark grey routes / icons mean they will not able to be explored. This may change as new versions come out)

Plot
You play as a young somewhat experienced cultist from "Crescent", a cult later known as the "Cult of Darkrai". From one night to another you take part in
your usual tasks for the group, spend time with your friends, or not should you choose not to, and witness Pokemon summoning. One night you are given
a more advanced-level task to perform and with your unfortunate luck, you stumble through a series of dangerous experiences which turn your whole life
and outlook upside down.

Features
A New Spin On An Old Story

With extended depth to the lore and mechanics of the region, characters and cults, it will feel familiar yet completely new!
New Delta Pokemon & Forms
Across the whole game there are over a dozen Delta Pokemon to collect; will you find them all?
Gen1 to Gen8 Pokemon
While there will be less overall Pokemon to capture than Insurgence had, you can discover various Pokemon from all 8 generations!
Brand New Cults
The cults you once knew are in some ways different than you may remember. You may even come across new cults!
Beautiful Fogs
Almost every map will include intricate lighting and shading effects to add more atmosphere to the location!
A Unique Development Kit
Unlike the sea of Pokemon Essentials games, Pokemon Exigence runs on Pokemon SDK. With a constant smooth 60fps even with maps
filled with events & animated tiles and unique UI graphics, it is a new and beautiful experience!
Using Magic
Since you play as a cultist, you will have access to magic and spells that you will be able to gradually unlock over time.
Some spells are event-specific while others can be used in daily life, such as healing spells!
Character Creation
Though not as deep as Insurgence, you will still be able to choose your name, skin tone and gender; now with a nonbinary option!

And Much So More As The Game's Development Progresses!

A Story Split in Three
Very early into the game you will be given a choice of how you wish to spend your time. Depending on your choice, the game will split off into three directions. Though most of the events and the ending will remain the same, character motivations and a few events and locations will be route-specific.

New Starter Pokemon
You begin your journey with a new summoned Pokemon. Which familiar will choose to partner up with you?

StartersSet1.png

New, Old & New Old Cults
DarkCult.png

Crescent aka The Cult of Darkrai
Worshipers of the Mythical Pokemon Darkrai and Crescelia, they hope to harness the power to live an immortal life in the
world of dreams. Despite their appearance, they are very a honorable group who try to live a good life and protect themselves
and the neighboring towns in their territory. But what could have made them turn evil in the future...

TrinityCult.png

Trinity
Before they were the evil "Sky Cult", they were a peace-keeping anti-cult dedicated to the protection of Torren.
Their name stems from three different divisions that make up the organization; one side focused on faith, one side focused on science and
a third party later known as "Perfection" that researches both.

AbyssCult.png

Abyssal
The Abyssal Cult, located in Western Torren is a fairly small cult with beautiful yet deadly members, genius scientists and
an unknow agenda.Though they don't make much of an appearance, they are still regarded as a powerful cult within the region.

... and many more!
From official cults like the "Infernal Cult" to ones hinted at in Insurgence lore and even new ones like the "Death Cult",
some may have larger impacts than others, but all fit neatly into the chaotic cult-filled Torren region

Demo Content

The demo will feature from Telnor Town to Route 2; which I know doesn't sound like much, but it is at least 2 hours or so worth
of content. In it you will experience an introduction to the characters in the first chapter of events, possibly some Delta Pokemon to hunt,
many Pokemon to catch and maybe even secret event or two to access; if you can find them.

Been so used to posting updates on Twitter I haven't updated this thread. Current progress, the writing is mostly done, the art is basically all done and 3/4 of the maps for the demo are complete as well. Still a ways away from a demo release, but it is slowly getting there. In the meantime, here are some small art and screenshot updates:

CharNewTrainers2.png

The game will feature official trainer classes, custom ones and modified classes like the above "Gutsy Lad" and "Sporty Lass".

RuinsRemake.png

Here is a look at how we've been trying to give the region a new feel yet at the same time trying to give that nostalgia of the locations found in Insurgence. The layouts of old maps will be largely the same, but there will also be some small changes; like being able to explore the temple roof for example.

Screen7.png

Last but not least some random screenshots. This is in the Midna Mines and I have been exploring different kinds of random npc text and testing out the battles there.

I will try to post updates here more often, but for now, hopefully this will be a good small update.

Progress update:

Currently we are porting the project over to a new version of PSDK which will hopefully offer a continued better experience. It will take some time and some things will need to be changed and edited, but we're all still working hard at it. As it stands, story for the demo is 70% complete, spriting is 90% complete and mapping is 65% complete (most of the remainder are indoor maps). So things are gradually coming along and I am really hoping the demo will be complete no later than Halloween at the latest. I mean who knows, but that is my personal goal anyway. In the meantime, there is a new title screen, so I will add that to this progress update too:

Update: The main thread has been upgraded to include art and gameplay changes. I still need to update the screenshots a little bit, but that will come as we continue to work on the game.
