I like the concept for this game, but there are a few issues that are a big turn off for me. Firstly the racism/bigotry plotline is really hard to sit through. As someone who's experienced this personally in the past, it's pretty jarring when you experience it in game and takes you out of the experience. Not that I'm throwing shade at your writing skills, but I feel like the regions being racist towards one another is really poorly implemented in game. A lot of the time it feels like these remarks were written in for the sake of saying something racist/bigoted, rather than for setting the plot forward or world building. I feel like if you want to focus on that as a story device, you need to put more care on explanation as to why the regions hate each other. Outside of one NPC telling you "Some people out there might hate you for no reason" there is little to no explanation as to why the region is in the state it's in.
Another issue I have is the open world factor. While this on paper is a great idea, I think some tweaks need to be made. It seems as though story points are not altered if you do things out of intended order. For example, at one point while exploring I stumbled upon the evil team in the snowy region. This was the first time encountering them, and had only had NPCs tell me about them prior to this. Despite that fact, the leader treated me as if I had already encountered them multiple times and had thwarted their plans. This was pretty confusing as I had never encountered them before, and kinda killed the immersion.
Overall I think this game has some really great ideas, but needs a bit more work to flesh out the story and open world aspect. I'll be keeping my eye out for if/when this has been done before attempting another run.
